Now, let’s move forward and discuss the next concept of the British Olympic Association.
About The British Olympic Association:
The British Olympic Association (BOA) is the National Olympic Committee (NOC) that has been made specifically for countries like Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It was formed in 1905 in the House of Commons and now involves the thirty-three National Governing Bodies of each Olympic sport as its members, for both summer and winter Olympics.
Talking about the role that the British Olympic Association has to perform, is to ensure that the ‘Best of British’ athletes are prepared well for, and further lead them to, the summer, winter as well as the Youth Olympic Games. The responsibility that the BOA encompasses is towards championing the Olympic values and brand in the UK region. Moreover, talking about the funding of the BOA, it receives no annual funding from either the lottery or government, has no requirement of political interests, and further showcases dependence upon fundraising income to achieve its main aim/mission. The BOA is considered to be the strong and independent voice for British Olympic Sport.
While being the main as well as an independent voice of Olympic Sport, the collaboration with its members and other sport stakeholders, both domestically and internationally, is to ensure that there is continuous growth and maintenance of the overall health of the Olympic Movement in the United Kingdom region.
Team GB is the brand name that has been used since the year 1999 by the British Olympic Association for their Great Britain and Northern Ireland Olympic team. This brand was developed after the 1996 Summer Olympics and has now become a well-known trademark of the BOA.
Now, before moving towards the big announcement of the partnership, let’s also discuss the LA28.
