Priyanshu Sharma
Creative Head, Cyntexa
Have you ever watched your friends pack their bags for bigger cities and wondered if staying back means falling behind? That quiet fear that your address decides your ceiling? Meet Priyanshi, the Creative Head at Cyntexa, who carried that fear for years and then lived the exact moment that turned it upside down. This is her story of putting family first, finding her strength in words, and proving that a big career can be built right from Jaipur.
Priyanshi grew up in Jaipur as the elder daughter of her family, the kind of student teachers never have to worry about. She scored 92% in her 12th standard, and like many bright students, she had one dream in mind: Delhi University. Her school friends were already making plans to study in other cities and even other countries, and she wanted to be right there with them, starting a new chapter in a new place.

But life had a different plan. Around the time her admission plans were taking shape, her father went through a financial setback after an investment did not work out. Nobody sat Priyanshi down and asked her to compromise. She felt the strain at home on her own, and she made a quiet decision: she would not add the weight of high college fees to her father’s worries. She dropped the Delhi University dream and enrolled in a Law degree in Jaipur instead.
She says it plainly even today. “Padhne wale toh kahin par bhi padh lete hain… and I have to be there for my family.” It was a mature choice for a teenager, and it was the right one for her family. But it came with a worry she could not shake off. Her school batch was heading to the US and the UK, and she was staying back. “Jaipur mein reh gayi na apne school se padhne ke baad, toh fir kuch bhi nahi hai… I would always be inferior in life.” That fear sat with her through every class and every conversation with friends who had moved away.
Then the COVID-19 lockdown arrived, and like everyone else, Priyanshi found herself at home with a lot of time and no clear direction. She jokes that she felt like a couch potato. But sitting still has never really been her style. Together with her mother, she started a small neighborhood daycare and tutoring setup. It began as a way to stay busy, with her mother by her side, and a room full of neighborhood kids made the days feel purposeful again. It also turned into her first stipend, and with it, a feeling she had not felt in a while: the pride of earning her own money. By the age of 18, Priyanshi was financially self-sufficient. For a girl who had just given up her dream college to protect her family’s finances, that line carried a lot of pride.

The next few years were about finding the right fit. Law was not her calling, and she knew it. She tried computer science studies for a while, but her old rivalry with math made it a short-lived attempt. She felt guilty each time she left something midway, because she knew her parents were investing in her. Through all of this, one thing stayed constant: words. She picked up technical SaaS content writing and found that it came naturally to her. “Whatever my natural strengths were, I could do them without any training”. Still, a doubt crept in. Was she going to spend her years in a routine with no real growth in sight? She was looking for a place that would stretch her, a place with energy, culture, and people who cared about what they built.
That place was closer than she thought. Priyanshi came across Cyntexa through pictures of its aesthetic office and its team engagement activities. It looked like a company that knew how to have fun while doing serious work, which was exactly the kind of environment she had been searching for. But what truly changed her direction was something much simpler: an Instagram video.
It was a video by Cyntexa’s CEO, Shrey. He spoke about how people underestimate Jaipur, and how a great career can be built from this very city. Priyanshi stopped scrolling. Those words landed straight on the fear she had been carrying since the day she gave up Delhi. “Jaipur ko log underestimate karte hain, lekin Jaipur se bhi career ban sakta hai.” For the first time, staying back did not sound like a limit. It sounded like a starting point. Here was the head of a company she was already drawn to, speaking directly to the thing she had been afraid to say out loud to anyone. It did not sound like a recruitment pitch. It sounded like an answer to a question she had been carrying for years.
That moment was her watershed. She made a promise to herself: “If this time I am going back to writing, I am gonna give it my all.” She applied to Cyntexa with that promise in her pocket. Like most of us before an interview, she was anxious. A discouraging remark from a fellow candidate before her round did not help either. But she took a deep breath, trusted her instincts, and kept going. She cleared her rounds with flying colors and joined Cyntexa as a Content Writer Trainee.

Her first big opportunity came sooner than she expected. Early in her time at Cyntexa, Priyanshi got to work directly with the CEO on career stories, the very kind of stories you are reading right now. It was a lot of responsibility for a trainee, and she took it seriously. Soon she was writing website blogs, press releases, customer success stories, and HARO query responses without waiting to be asked. She did not wait for the perfect brief or a formal invitation. If there was a piece of writing the company needed, she raised her hand first. That habit of picking up work before anyone assigned it earned her a nickname that stuck: “The Initiator.”
Being proactive taught her some lessons the hard way, too. In one press release, she made a small phrasing choice around the words “data security.” It seemed minor while writing, but the client pushed back sharply, and she felt the weight of it. That one incident taught her something no training session could. In a press release, every word is a promise. Since then, she double-checks every detail and tells every new writer the same thing: “Do not trust any grammar app or tool. Trust your instinct.”

Your Career Journey Begins Here!
Join Now!Her scope kept growing, and Priyanshi kept saying yes. She stepped in front of the camera and acted in a company ad film, something a writer does not usually sign up for. She created and designed an entire presentation deck for a senior executive’s talk at Dreamforce, and the session turned out to be houseful. That is the kind of result that makes all the late nights worth it. Her efforts were recognized with the company’s Rising Star Award. For a girl who had once worried about getting stuck in an uninspired routine, it was a loud answer to an old question. Writing had not trapped her in a corner. It had opened one door after another.
From there, she stepped into the other aspects of marketing. However, growth this fast is not always comfortable. As her responsibilities increased and her visibility grew, there were stretches where she felt a little distance from the people around her, and the going was not always easy. In those moments, Priyanshi did what she does best: she kept her head down and her work loud. She held on to a line that became her personal mantra: “Do not forget your magic in the moments of struggle.” She also learned to look after herself while chasing big goals. “Treat yourself nicely. If not now, then who else would?” And she is quick to add that the people around her made a difference.
Then came the moment she had not dared to imagine back when she watched her school friends leave. Priyanshi was given the opportunity to represent Cyntexa in the United States. She boarded the flight as a woman who once feared that staying in Jaipur would leave her behind. All the kids from my school used to go to the US, and I had stayed back. But when I got the chance to represent the company in the US, that was a full-circle moment of my life.

She had not left her city to build her career. Her career had taken her out into the world and brought her back with a story to tell.
Today, Priyanshi is the Creative Head at Cyntexa. The role has changed the way she works, and she is the first to say so. With great power comes even greater responsibility. Nobody assigns me tasks anymore; I have to define my own, take accountability, and ensure they create impact. It’s also my responsibility to delegate effectively and guide others toward the right priorities.”
She now guides the direction of her team and decides where time, energy, and people should go. It is a big shift from being the trainee who waited for her next assignment, and she wears it with calm confidence.
The way she leads comes straight from what she learned while working alongside Shrey. He taught her that a team grows when its people are given room to grow, and that is the philosophy she follows today. “If you work for people’s growth, people work for you.” She has made it her mission to build the people around her, not just the work in front of her. For her, leading means making room for other people to do their best work. She still remembers what it felt like to be new and unsure, and she wants every fresher walking into Cyntexa today to feel that someone is rooting for them from day one.
Leadership has also taught her to change one old habit. Earlier, Priyanshi would think a problem through on her own for days before reaching out. Now she knows better. However much you think alone, two heads will think more. One should always communicate. Talking things through with leadership, she says, solves most problems faster than silence ever could.
When Priyanshi looks back, she does not see pressure as a burden. She sees it as proof that someone trusts you with something big. If you are getting the pressure of doing good work, please consider yourself fortunate
The girl who once feared that staying back in Jaipur would make her feel inferior has become one of the faces that Cyntexa trusts to carry its creative voice. Her story is for every student who had to choose family over a dream college, every fresher unsure if a smaller city can hold a bigger future, and everyone who is still searching for the place where their strengths finally make sense.
Staying back in Jaipur was never staying behind. It was where her story began, and it turned out to be where it came full circle.
