About the client

The client is one of the nation’s leading e-commerce stores for fashion and lifestyle products in Europe. It aims at providing a stress-free and gratifying shopping experience to shoppers across the country with the broadest range of brands and products on its portal. Their value proposition revolves around giving consumers the power and ease of purchasing fashion and lifestyle products online.


The client was facing several challenges due to the use of traditional eCommerce platforms. Their platform had many point-to-point integrations that lacked the flexibility, scalability, and performance required to support their fast-growing global business.

The client opted to upgrade their system by switching to Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) and chose the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform to seamlessly integrate multiple systems across brands, geographies, and channels.

One of the key challenges was setting up the connection with SFCC. They needed APIs developed to integrate the SFCC with their various back-end and front-end systems such as Warehouse Management, CRM, ERP, loyalty programs, POS, payment providers, and more.

Maintaining the security of the sensitive information was another challenge. The client wanted to implement the security standards that promise high efficiency and client business reliability.

In summary, the client struggling with scalability, decreased performances, siloed systems, and weak security of their eCommerce operations. Overcoming these challenges required seamless business operations and growth sustainability.  


We have understood the challenges faced by the client, and implemented the following solutions;

  • Developed Mulesoft architecture: To create a reference architecture based on MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform, we evaluated the client’s business requirements and existing technical landscape. We designed a 3-layered architectural model following MuleSoft’s best practices. This architecture has loose coupling, allowing the client to replace the system causing problems without impacting the overall integration. 
  • Developed APIs for integration with SFCC: We collaborated closely with the client to build APIs that allowed the new e-commerce platform to access customer information, order status, real-time inventory, pricing, and other data previously stored in different silos. This process transformed historical data like past orders to be utilized by the e-commerce platform and other systems. All API-enabled connections were developed with reusability in mind.
  • Implemented best security practices: We used Mulesoft Anypoint Security to provide advanced security for their APIs and integrations. This helped protect sensitive data, prevent threats at the edge, and automatically implement the best security practices to protect and govern their platform.
