Tableau Pulse Is Now Available, Introducing A New Era Of Generative AI-Powered Insights

February 26, 2024 eye-glyph 8718

Salesforce recently announced the general availability of Tableau Pulse, generative AI-powered insights for customers, to empower them with faster decision-making. It comes free with all editions for Tableau Cloud and Embedded Analytics solutions.

What is Tableau Pulse?

Tableau Pulse, powered by Generative AI, delivers insights in both natural language and visual format. This intuitive interface makes it easier than ever to discover critical metrics, gain valuable insights, ask questions, and connect data to real-world business contexts. Additionally, Tableau Pulse leverages the security of the Einstein Trust Layer, ensuring that teams can benefit from AI capabilities without compromising customer data.

Key new features of Tableau Pulse include:

  • Tableau Pulse Insights Platform: Automatically detects vital drivers, trends, contributors, and outliers within users’ workflow, driving faster and more informed decision-making. Proactive alerts and natural language explanations empower users to understand trends, identify anomalies, and take action quickly.
  • Tableau Pulse Slack Digest: Shares summaries and contextual insights about key metrics within preferred Slack channels.
  • Tableau Pulse on Mobile: Delivers AI-generated insights directly on mobile devices, including Tableau Mobile, Slack, and email.
  • Tableau Pulse Metrics Layer: Simplifies metric definition creation, ensuring a single source of truth and consistent understanding across the organization.

Tableau Cloud:  Innovation At Its Best

Undoubtedly, one of the fastest-growing analytics platforms that offers flexibility to businesses is Tableau Cloud. Salesforce added the following new capabilities to make it more robust:

  • Tableau Cloud is available at the AWS marketplace, allowing customers to access Salesforce offerings through the AWS Marketplace, inclusive of functionalities like advanced data analytics with Tableau. It simplifies processes like billing and procurement and offers a 360-degree view of IT expenses all in one place.
  • Visual Segment Creation in Data Cloud streamlines segment creation within Tableau, allowing data analysts to use spatial mapping features for tasks like forming geographic segments based on zip codes. These segments can be seamlessly imported into Data Cloud, supporting targeted marketing campaigns. Data Cloud integrates stored data into Salesforce, creating a holistic customer view.
  • Additionally, Tableau Cloud now offers expanded data storage, providing 1 TB storage and 5 TB with Advanced Management.

Tableau Pulse Pricing

The excellent news is Tableau Pulse comes at no cost with all the editions of Tableau Cloud and Embedded Analytics solutions.

Current users of Tableau Cloud or Embedded Analytics can turn on Pulse directly from the settings and turn on Insights Summaries to get started with Pulse’s Generative AI functionality.
